15 Black Cozy Winter Coats

I am headed to Portland this weekend where the weather is freezing and I’m on the hunt for a cozy black winter coat  that will go with everything.  I hate stuffy jackets that make me feel constricted, so when I am looking for cold weather gear, I opt for comfy, warm, and weatherproof. Plus, it needs to go with a plethora of my outfits and look good with a beanie and boots. While I love a practical cozy black winter coat option, you know keeping my style game fierce is not even a question.

Here are the black winter coats I’m looking at for this years cold weather winter fest. I have found some favorite styles along with some less expensive options.

I have a brown winter coat that is similar to this Michael Kors jacket that I’ve worn on repeat for the past 3 years. It feel like you are walking around in a stylish sleeping bag. Seriously though, talk about a cozy and warm coat, you can’t go wrong wearing this similar Michael Kors! Plus, I’m loving the gold detail from the zipper. Wool Blend Black Coat

I am massively crushing on this black wool blend, fur trim black J Crew  coat. It’s absolutely the most stunning black winter coat and the price reflects that at $365. I wouldn’t recommend playing with it in the snow, but you could definitely walk in the brisk air while holding a hot coffee and be warm. The details on this black jacket are perfect like the cross stitching and gold arrows near the zipper are beatiful. It also comes in multiple colors, so if black isn’t your thing…try out the maroon!

I have seen tons of blogger wearing pile coats this season like this black free people teddy jacket. One of my friends also has this exact coat and it feels like you are wearing a plush baby blanket. It’s not weatherproof so if it’s raining or snowing, you might want to opt for something else. But for everyday life; yes please.

Here is a less expensive verson of the Free People jacket for only $27 at Forever21. It’s similar in style and has the cozy and comfy look to it. Perfect for chilly winter days.

WATERPROOF BLACK COAT

Option number one is this rain and weatherproof black jacket from Nike that has a quilted down liner. I love that the neck line goes up because on extra cold days you can hide half of your face from the freezing air. That is a major bonus. This heavy duty winter coat is not cheap at almost $400, but guaranteed it will last you for the next ten. Also, from Nordys so if there is a problem, you can return it. Love that.

SIMILAR BLACK WATERPROOF COAT

I love the white zipper detail on this black waterproof coat from Helly Hansen. It doesn’t have the goose down like the Nike coat above, but you could layer a fleece zip underneith for extra warmth. It does have a similar neck line though which will keep the wind away when the weather turns angry.

Black Parka

All of the gold buttons on this black winter coat makes it unique and gorgeous. If you like to layer up for winter, you can throw this parka over your sweater to make your life weatherproof and not feel stuffed in. I like that it has a hood attatched for rainy days and that it covers your bum for a little extra warmth. Price $155

If you want an activewear winter coat that’s black, you will love this one. I love the detail and the edgy look of this lightweight but insolated jacket for $170. It’s perfect to wear with your atheleisure wear.
