Anti-Oxidant for Anti Aging:   In short, free radicals at the cellular level is oxidation of the skin. Just like a banana is effected by free-radicals and turns brown, our skin does the same except for it breaks down collagen and elastin. Using an anti-oxidant helps to protect your skin from free radicals that break down collagen and elastin. Vitamin C is a great anti-oxidant but it does oxidize as well and lose it’s potency, so it needs to be in a dark brown container. Another new idea for an anti-oxidant is Ferulic Acid which is a stabilizer and it’s my favorite.

Hyaluronic Acid for Anti Aging: This power ingredient holds 1,000 times its weight in water and is essential to the health of your skin. As we age, the moisture in our skin drops which can make your skin lose its elasticity. We don’t want that. Using Hyaluronic Acid daily helps to ensure that your skin’s moisture level is optimal for keeping your skin in good condition. HERE

Retinol and Retinoids for Anti Aging: Using a retinoid or retinol is critical for combating fine lines and wrinkles. It’s only skincare ingredient that’s scientifically proven to work at the molecular level of the skin and thus the reason why every skincare brand has it in their product line. There are retinoids that are prescription strength (Retin-A) and ones with less potency called Retinol that still give great results. In a nutshell, using retinol will help with fine lines, wrinkles, and brown pigmentation; it’s the most powerful anti-aging ingredient you can have in your skincare routine.

Here’s the thing though when you use a retinoid, they can be pretty irritating to the skin. Your skin can get red and flaky and because of that, people think they are allergic. That’s not the case at all. You just need to start out slowly and use the product every other day or every three days until your skin acclimates.

Peptides for Anti Aging: Peptides are amino acids that naturally occur in the skin. They are building blocks of the protein collagen and an amazing anti-aging skincare ingredient. Peptides are important because they help to stimulate skin growth and repair damage like fine lines and wrinkles. There are tons of types of peptides on the market, but a few to look for is Copper Peptides and Hexapeptides.
