Almay Simply American Bus Tour in Austin, TX

Over the weekend, I braved the crazy ACL crowd (crazy is an understatement) in Austin, TX to attend the Almay “Simply American” beauty tour. I brought my mom and a couple girlfriends with me to get pampered by makeup artists, win some Almay makeup, eat food, and get wild in a photo booth.  Austin was the last leg of the Almay beauty bus tour, and I am glad I was asked to attend the party.  Not only did I have a mad-fun-time, but it was for a good cause too.

Over the summer, Almay teamed up with the USO, a private non-profit organization that supports our troops, and did a beauty tour. They stopped in ten cities to do something really cool, honor U.S military women and veterans.. Not only did they celebrate and pamper these women, but they helped raise financial support for the USO to help these troops transition back into their communities.

So far, Almay along with other contributors like yourself, have donated over $250,000 to the USO. Even better, there is still an opportunity on the Almay #SimplyAmerican page for you to get involved and give to the cause as well.

Although it was great to be able to show my support for such a great cause, it was also fun for this makeup obsessed mama to get pampered a bit. The inside of the Simply American bus reminded me of a makeup trailer used on set for photoshoots and films. There were makeup stations lining the walls of the bus and loads of pretty Almay makeup that beckoned me for a touch-up. Honestly, as a makeup artist myself, it was fun being on the other end of the makeup brush this time.

For my makeup touch-up, I asked the makeup artist to give my lips a punch of color. We collaborated and chose the super hydrating smart shade butter kiss™ lipstick in red light and then topped it with the Almay color + care™ liquid lip balm in Pink Pout. Together they made a gorgeous fuschia shade, one of my favorite colors.

Then I gathered with my two girlfriends in the photobooth and got silly in front of the camera. Honestly, it was such a fun afternoon and totally worth trying to beat the ACL crowd and find parking.

Go check out the Almay Simply American page and see how you can help support our women in the military as well.
