You know that moment when you get in the car and do a quick double-check of your makeup in the mirror and slightly freak because it actually looks awful? I mean, it looked near perfection in the bathroom, but now that you have landed in natural light, it looks like your toddler gave you your makeover. That’s an awesome feeling (sarcasm-sarcasm). It’s time to find the best in-door lighting for makeup.
Lighting is super important when it comes to putting on your makeup, and if you are like me and live where the sun don’t (usually) shine, you have to improvise. Recently GE Lighting came out with a new light bulb that will help all of us avoid those makeup blunders; check out the new halogen Light Bulb and my “mini” bathroom makeover.
About : GE reveal® bulbs offer clean, full spectrum light which enhance colors and patterns while filtering out the dull yellow rays of most bulbs, turning your room from ordinary to extraordinary. With reveal® the whites appear whiter, and the reds appear redder.
The new reveal® LED light also offers big energy and cost savings, lasting more than a decade based on three hours of use each day. It is engineered to have the same familiar size and shape of an incandescent bulb as traditional incandescents will no longer be manufactured in the United States as of January 2014 due to their energy inefficiency and changing energy regulations. The new reveal LEDs will come in 40- and 60-watt replacements, as well as a popular BR-30 shape for recessed fixture down-lighting.
The reveal® line also includes energy-efficient halogen which use 28% less energy than regular incandescent reveal® bulbs, compact fluorescents (CFL), decorative bulbs, and more.
I was pretty impressed with the makeover these lights gave my bathroom. You can clearly see how the new lights cut out all of the warm, nasty yellow hues that can basically kill a makeup. It’s also nice that I don’t have to do my makeup near my window anymore, my bathroom lighting is totally makeup-application-worthy now.
Now back to putting on my makeup, but this time with confidence that I will actually look good when I do that double check in the car mirror.
