Easy Holiday Updo for Short Hair

I have an easy holiday updo for short hair to show you today! Since short hair is a new thing for me, I have to be creative with how to pull off a chic hairstyle without having length to do it with (not gonna lie,  I seriously miss my long, super damaged hair). If you don’t have short hair, you can still pull off this easy updo, you just might need a few more bobby pins in order to do it.

Before we get started, you should know that my hair doesn’t have much body to it, so I prepped my hair by applying the TRESemme 24 hour foaming mousse to damp hair, and then gave it a good blow dry.

All right, let’s get started with how you can get this cute and easy holiday updo for short hair.

1)   Teasing brush and a volumizing hair spray. I used the TRESemme 24 hour body finishing spray, which is ah-maz-ing,…no joke!

2)   Headband, hair clip, and bobby pins.

Get the Look:

1)   Spray the TRESemme 24 hour body finishing spray evenly into the crown of the hair and then pin it up with a hair clip for later use.

2)   Split the base of your hair in half like you are doing piggy-tales, but instead of making them piggy-tales, roll them vertically and secure them with bobby pins. You should now have the crown of your hair clipped, and the base of your hair rolled in to two vertical curls.

3)   Next unclip the crown of your hair and tease it underneath for volume. Then smooth it over the vertical rolls you have created and pin at the base.

4)   Last apply your headband of choice!

I hope you enjoyed this easy holiday updo for short hair, make sure to pin or share it for all of your short hair friends!

Nice ‘do. I have a couple of medium Ficcare Maxima clips eating their heads off for lack of exercise, I should haul them out and start using them again. I think I have recovered enough thickness to make them work. I’m sick of jaw claws. 😛

  • All I need is a headband and I can try this
