My Fall Skincare Routine

Fall Skincare Routine

I am that person at the park that wears the sun hat, the sunscreen, the glasses, and other sun-protecting gear—total nerd status. My kids probably hate me because I am also that mom that spends 20 min. slathering them up with major block and my friends know me for being a little over-zealous about my skincare routine. Whatev, I am fine with that.

But no matter how much I protect my skin with sunscreen, I always end up with some post summer hyper-pigmentation (yucky brown spots) on my nose, above my cheekbones and basically anywhere the sun sees first. They are obnoxiously annoying.

So in transitioning from summer to fall in the skincare department, I am using products that will help diminish those brown spots a bit. Here is my current routine, what’s yours?

  1. Wash my face with whatever cleanser is closest, then apply the VeriaID  skin scrub and use my Clarisonic Mia with it. These two together make your face feel like velvet. I only do the scrub 2-3 times a week, and then use the clarisonic by its self with my cleanser on the other days.
  2. After I cleanse, I apply the Precision MD Youth Recovery Facial Serum. This high-tech skincare product not only helps with fine lines, wrinkles and past sun damage, it helps you avoid future skin damage as well. Another bonus is that it has hyluronic acid in it (a key skincare routine ingredient) that helps your skin retain its moisture. I have been using this every day for a month-ish, and my skin is pretty happy.
  3. Once my skin has its treatment product on, I moisturize like a banchee. One thing that cuts down on my morning routine is to use a moisturizer that has an SPF included in it and I found the mother ship. Zensations Super Nourishing Cream has an SPF OF 50 and its incredibly hydrating for the dry, colder climate that is creeping up. Also, on a side note, you still really need that sunblock. It’s one the best anti-aging products you can buy yourself.
  4. If my under-eyes could talk to me it was say to stop smashing them into a pillow for 6 hours a night. It also doesn’t help that I have been sleep-deprived for 3 years since having my first babe. Needless to say, eye-cream for me is oober important. Currently I am using and loving the Precision MD iQuad Infusion Total Eye Complex that has important Petpides in it to help rebuild that collagen and keep my under eyes tight. For those of us with tired eyes from sleepless nights, it also helps with puffiness and dark circles. It has been an under-eye life-saver for me.

I can’t figure out what routine is best for me!! I’m getting breakouts along my hair line (so I’ve been pulling my hair back) and my forehead looks like I’ve rubbed a stick of butter across it by late morning! It’s GROSS!!

  • Perfectly timely post for me! I love my Clarisonic, but sometimes I struggle with removing dead skin cells (maybe I need to switch my brush?) Going to have to check out Veriad, too. Thanks for the reco!

Also, just wanted to thank you for your thoughtful comment on my New York, I Love You post this week. 🙂

Hope you have a great weekend!
