Today while shopping at Free People I noticed an earring set for $18.00 that I knew I needed to have. But I had to stop myself and take note that it wasn’t the earrings that I found enamoring, it was the packaging, and let’s be honest, packaging is everything. So I opted to buy two earrings trio at H&M instead for $3.00 and $1.00, and do a DIY Free People inspired earring set at home. I am in love with the results, and I am pretty sure every female in my family will be getting one in their Christmas gift this year.
What You Need
1 small piece of leather (I had some laying around… )
2 or 3 sets of small earrings (again, found mine at H&M on sale for $3.00)
gold paint, paint brush, sand paper (had these around too)
1 cute coin purse to put the earring set into (found on clearance at H&M for $3.00)
- Cut out 1 small 3×2.5 leather rectangle
- Lightly sand top one top of leather rectangle and aint a gold stripe (this step is option…but so cute)
- Pierce two or three earring sets into the leather square.
- Place your DIY Free People inspired earring set into the coin purse
In the end, you can make a ton of these at a very low cost. Since I had six earring sets total and wanted to put two sets on each leather rectangle, I could make three sets of earrings. Pair that with the $3.00 coin purse and leather that I cut out from an old skirt and my total cost for each gift is only $4.30. So, this DIY Free People inspired earring set is not breaking bank, and my friends and family will get some fun gifts this holiday season.
I hope you guys enjoyed this easy tutorial! Have a great day!
