I bought this mascara a few days ago at the ULTA “21 days of beauty” sale for two reasons: 1) I needed more mascara to add to my stash. 2) It was only $10.00, an incredible price. I love when ULTA does these sales because you can get items like this at 50% off which makes a beauty product hoarder, like me, very happy. This sale rivals Sephora’s Black Friday sale minus the cray-cray customers and overwhelming lines….another positive note to mention.
I can honestly say that after 10 years of opening up different mascaras, I have never seen a wand like this. It is extremely chubby through the middle, and slender at the end with bristles that are perfectly separated to grasp each lash. Having a wand this “fat” and “robust” allowed me to get the most mascara onto my lashes with one swipe. The skinny tip made it easy to get the inner corners of my eyes and lower lashes.
As you can see, having mascara on these eyes is a must. Since I am a natural blonde…my lashes are too, making it extremely difficult to see that I actually do have a little bit.
Lorac’s PRO Mascara is meant to be a lengthening and thickening mascara that is smudge proof and easy to build upon. My first coat, it’s easy to see that I definitely scored on the length factor (check out my lower lashes), and the thickening was just enough. I would say to use just one coat if you are wanting a more natural look.
After the first coat, my lashes were still flexible and not stiff which make adding the second coat really simple to do. I didn’t notice much more in the length department, but it sure did add some thickness.
My third and final coat was more than enough for my eyes. I am not one to gobb on the mascara, I just don’t like that look. So when it even starts to get remotely chunky, I am done. I still thought that my lashes looked really nice, not clumpy at all, but I don’t feel like it did much for adding an extreme amount of length. Although- when you look at my before mascara look, the added length is pretty dramatic. Maybe I am being too picky.
For only $10.00 (normally $23.00), I was pretty impressed. Would I buy it again? Probably if it was only $10.00 again, but I wouldn’t splurge $23.00 for it and here’s why. While my lashes looked great, I noticed that they started flaking at about 6 hours or so. I realize makeup needs to be touched up, but I am not happy when I see mascara-flakes on my cheeks. It did a great job of not smudging and was extremely build-able–but in the words of Taylor Swift, I just want my mascara to stay-stay-stay.
