Today I am excited to share with you my top 3 drugstore skincare brands that I have tried and like for the effectiveness and ingredients. From Non-toxic drugstore skincare to more clinical, there is something for everyone. If you think you need to head to a department store to find good skincare, think again. These drugstore skincare brands are rivaling anything out there and I am obsessed. Check out my three favorite skincare brands and the must-have products you just might need.
Clinical Drugstore Skincare
La Roche-Posay: I first heard about La Roche Posay from top makeup artists. They would come back from traveling abroad with loads of La Roche-Posay to keep in their makeup kits for clients. So I was incredibly happy when it made its way to the US skincare market and particularly in drugstores. What’s so special about La Roche-Posay is that they are a clinical skincare brand with ingredients that not only soothe the skin but help clear real skin problems like acne, brown pigmentation and more.
As an esthetician with a medical spa background, it’s cool to see a brand like this accessible at most drugstores. A few of my must have products from La Roche-Posay are Redermic (anti-aging focused), and Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Treatment (acne focused). Redermic reminds me of Retin-A and Duo Dual Action reminds me of Benzaclin, however, since these are not prescription, they will not have the same strength. Depending on the severity of your skin condition, these could work to fight fines lines and wrinkles or acne and be pretty effective.
Right now (3.3.16) La Roche-Posay is 20% off on beauty.com which is $10.00 less than Target or Wallgreens for the Redermic…insert high-five.
Effective Drugstore Skincare
Pixi Beauty: Pixi Beauty is positioning themselves as a top Drugstore Skincare Brand and taking the beauty world by storm. At first, it started with the Pixi Glow Tonic which is your next obsession, and then it developed into an entire line of Drugstore Skincare goodness that focuses on skin that glows. Who doesn’t want that?
In addition to the Pixi Glow Tonic that has 5% Glycolic Acid, the Pixi Glowtion Day Dew that I talk about in this blog post, is perfection. You should also check out the Pixi Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths because they are mostly saving my busy life right now.
Non-Toxic Drugstore Skincare
Burts Bees: If you are on the hunt for drugstore skincare that leans toxic-free (not entirely), Burts Bees is going to be one of your best options. They have some great ingredients that give them a ranking of under five on the Think Dirty app for toxic products. Burts Bees has some unique options for everything from Acne, to anti-aging and the ingredients are excellent.
A few of my favorites skincare choices from this drugstore skincare brand are the Burt’s Bees Renewal Intensive Firming serum that uses Hibiscus and Apple Rejuvenating Coplex (fine lines and wrinkles) and the Radiance Night Cream with Royal Jelly (fine lines and wrinkles). Royal Jelly contains eight essential amino acids, vitamin a, B1 B2, B6, C, D, and E. And it also carries niacin and folic acid. Both drugstore products score at a five on Think Dirty and have natural ingredients that give your skin the boost it needs. You can also check out a list of my favorite non-toxic beauty products over on this blog post.
Drugstore Skincare is starting to rival department stores, period. Isn’t it good to know that some great brands are accessible to everyone? Plus, these drugstore skincare products are pretty well priced for the quality that you get. Honestly, you can’t go wrong purchasing from any of these drugstore beauty brands.
So, what drugstore skincare do you like? Have you tried any of these?
