Makeover Monday: Before and After Retro Glam Look

Makeover Monday is here you guys!! Today we are going retro-glam: smoky eyes, lashes, pouty lips, and pretty curls. I am seriously in-love with this look…I hope you guys will be too! Huge thanks to my beautiful friend Mackenzie for being my Makeover Monday model.

BOOM! She is rocking this look!

What I used

Temptu airbrush system

Here in Austin, TX the heat is amping up into the 100’s! When the weather get’s like this, airbrushing with a silicone based foundation is key for longevity. Anytime I am doing wedding makeup in the heat, using the Temptu airbrushing system is my go-to. It creates a flawless look and stays put for for-ev-er despite sweat, tears, and other potential make-up meltdowns.

Foundation: Temptu airbrush system

Skin Correction: Face Stockholm blue corrector (undereyes) and Face Stockholm Red Corrector (for blemishes)

Powder: Koh Gen Do HD powder.

Contouring: Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (a must have)

Bronzer:  Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

Blush: Josie Maran Argan Color Stick in Coral

Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow Kit

Eyes:  Pressed Nars KAUAI (lighter shade) onto full lower eyelid then contoured eyes with Shiseido Eye Color Bar (middle row far left brown shade). For definition I  smudged the Jour Cosmetics Cream Eyeshadow Crayon in Abstract along the top and bottom outer lashline then used the Jane Iredale Black/brown eyeliner pencil on the upper and lower waterline. To finish the look, I used Ardell Lashes in #116 then topped them with the Diorshow mascara in black.

For the lips I lined and covered the entire lip with the Makeup Forever Aqua lip liner in 1C and then went over that with the Laura Mercier lipgloss in Bare Peach.

For hair I added the Aquage sea salt spray to give her very fine hair some texture and then dried her hair with a blow dryer. Then I parted her hair to one side and slicked it down so that the curls at the bottom would be more pronounced. For her curls, I used the Nume 3 in 1 curling wand. I love this curling wand, I use it every day!

But more than makeup…I think its her smile and just who she is that makes her the most beautiful!
