Check out my Bohemian meets Mid-Century Modern bedroom decor. To be honest, my bedroom has been the last to be fully decorated, and I’m blaming it on the kids. My home decorations are already modern and mid-century, but I love the feel of the bohemian style being incorporated into the room with a modern headboard and bedside tables mixed with a boho rug and prints, in-door plants, new round light-fixtures, and more. I love seeing how Anthropologie styles rooms as much as I love West Elm; so I decided to combine the two.
I love modern bohemian interior design, and I am thrilled to finally have my bedroom completed (mostly) in this style. I say “mostly” because there are still things I want to do like take down the ugly fan in my room and replace it with a mid-century modern brushed brass light fixture and add a bench at the end of my bed. But, I am trying to do this bedroom update on a budget and not break the bank in the process. So far I’ve done a pretty good job at keeping the cost low for this Bohemian Meets Mid-Century Modern bedroom decor update.
I think this Mid-Century Modern and Boho mixed room is my favorite place in the house so far. I feel so relaxed in this space right now that I could do Yoga. Just kidding (ish). It could also be the fact that no kid toys are happening in here which I can’t say for the rest of the house. This bedroom might be the only clean space in my home currently, so, I’m going to stay here and avoid cleaning up the mess.
Here is a breakdown of everything in my Mid-Century Modern meets Boho bedroom, where I purchased it, the actual product or a similar one.
Grey Upholstered Headboard: My husband and I actually DIY’d this West-Elm bed inspired headboard which was a pain in my butt and it didn’t really save us much money considering this similar grey upholstered headboard is only $100!
Bedding: Our bedding is a white goose down comforter that will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I like having a simple white comforter because it’s easy to clean and I can switch out the boho pillows if I want to add something else. Speaking of pillows, I have a few large blue pillows that have a fun pattern and a faux fur pillow that will be switched out for spring/summer.
Bedside Tables: We looked forever for these mid-century modern side tables. I wanted something with a drawer, and that wasn’t expensive. So, we landed on these Southmead End Tables from All Modern, and I am obsessed. Plus, they were on sale for $93.99! I placed these black wire baskets under the tables to mix in a modern vibe and also so that I could have a place to add random things like books and magazines.
Lighting: I found these Glass Globe Wall Sconces at World Market for only $59! They were easy to hang up, and I love the Mid-Century vibes these lights bring. I think they transform the bedroom and pull everything together.
Indoor Plants: I am obsessed with in-door plants right now. I found several large in-door plants at IKEA at a killer price at under $20 and a ton of other small cactus plants for under $5. I bought the grey pots at IKEA, wire basket at Target for placing the large plant next to my bed in which are no longer available, but here is a similar black wire basket one. I also have another plant in a boho grass-weaved basket; here is a similar boho basket of that one too.
Mid-Century Boho Chair: I don’t really love the chair I have right now in this space. I would much rather have a tan chair like this one, but I will work with what I have for now because there isn’t anything wrong with it. I just threw a big fluffy faux-fur blanket over it and called it good.
