About the Boscia Sake Balm Moisturizer

I honestly can’t think of one thing that Boscia has failed at in any skincare review from me. Did you ever see my review of the Boscia Black Mask I did a million years ago? I think the Boscia Sake Balm Moisturizer is on that level of good for this skincare review. So let me tell you a bit about it so you can see if your skin is a good fit.

What it is and what it does: The Boscia Sake Balm Moisturizer is gel-textured and has the best grade of sake. It’s formulated to hydrate and brighten the skin to instantly give you a glowing and dewy complexion. On top of that, it provides fantastic exfoliation which further helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Ingredients in the Boscia Sake Balm Moisturizer

Sake: I can honestly say that I have never in my life heard of using Sake in skincare. But it makes sense to me now that it’s in the Boscia Sake Balm Moisturizer since high-quality Sake carries thioredoxin (TRX), an ingredient known for improving the skin barrier function. With that, it also helps with the skin’s water content, reduces wrinkle depth, improves firmness, and brightens the look of the skin. Those are all fantastic benefits I would say.

Glycolic Acid: This is an AHA that helps to clarify the skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, as well as hyperpigmentation. Because it is an AHA, it promotes cellular turnover and leaves the skin beautifully exfoliated. Essentially, all great things.

Vitamin C: If you don’t have a Vitamin C in your skincare regimen, pay close attention. Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant that wards off free-radicals. We talk about free-radicals a lot around here because it’s incredibly important to block them to keep the integrity of your skin. In addition to helping block free-radicals, Vitamin C gives the skin brightness and luminosity we all crave.

Jojoba Leaf: Helps to nourish the skin and block free-radical damage.

Willowherb: Calms down inflammation in the skin and reduces redness and irritation.

ETC: In addition to all of those fabulous skincare ingredients, it is formulated without any preservatives, ethanol alcohol, and fragrance, and color. Plus, it’s paraben free.

How to Use the Boscia Sake Balm Moisturizer

Since the Boscia Sake Balm Moisturizer is a gel, it slips onto the skin very easily. You just gently sweep your finger over the top and then apply it to your skin. You can use it after you apply your serums, but be careful your other products don’t have additional exfoliants like retinol. It would be too much for your skin most likely.  If you have parched skin, you might need a heavier cream to use as your moisturizer but still this as your daily exfoliant because it’s pretty powerful.

Final Thoughts and Opinions on the Boscia Sake Balm Moisturizer

After I had applied the Boscia Sake Balm, my skin started to tingle immediately, which is what you want when you use a product with Glycolic. The next morning I woke up with tighter, brighter, and softer skin; the kind of results I want. In fact, my skin truly looked like it had just had a facial.  Essentially what I am saying my friends is, this is an excellent anti-aging skincare product because it targets large pores, fine lines and wrinkles, and rough skin. I would put this on my list of skincare to have.

  • it’s true! I discovered this product at Sephora, they had an open tester. It looked untouched, when I went back for another try a few minutes later, since it felt great, I noticed the surface of the cream was smooth and glassy again, which was amusing if not important. What clinched the deal was that I’d remembered reading about sake being good for skin and that the traditional makers of sake had exceptionally smooth hands. I went ahead and bought a jar and I noticed a wonderful smoothness the very next morning. I use it twice a day, under sunscreen during the day and over a retinol at night, it’s an OTC retinol, so maybe that’s why I haven’t had an issue. I didn’t actually know it contained glycolic acid till I read of it here (I had tossed the paper that came with the jar, or it was missing or something) or I might not have combined them, but I have not had any issues. I have slightly sensitive skin, not very and I don’t think this has caused any problems. you will feel a softer smoother face almost immediately but after several weeks of using this I really do feel like some wrinkles have been reduced or softened to the point of looking reduced. I bought some for my mother even. I will always use this cream I think.
