Check out this easy DIY Pumpkin Enzyme Charcoal Mask that will clean out your pores and give you glowing skin. You can easily make this fall inspired at home pumpkin mask recipe in a few minutes and begin prepping your skin now for all the holiday parties that are coming soon. Not only does it smell amazing, but it helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and pull out blackheads leaving you with a soft and radiant face.
Making your mask at home is one of the easiest DIY skincare item you can do. I think that’s why I like making them so much. If it’s too complicated, I won’t do it. Anyone else? This pumpkin enzyme mask has only three ingredients: organic pumpkin puree, plain greek yogurt, and charcoal. You will also need a blender to mix everything.
Who is the DIY Pumpkin and Charcoal Mask good for?
This DIY mask is for most all skin types. If you have aging skin, it will help with fine lines and wrinkles. If you have acne prone skin, it will help clean out pores. With that said, if you have sensitive skin, test a small amount on your face and see how your skin reacts. Pumpkin can be moderately aggressive with exfoliation.
Is Pumpkin good for my skin?
Pumpkin is a natural enzyme that helps to eat away at dead skin cells that are sitting on the top layer of skin called the epidermis. If you need a visual, think of packman. When you use a DIY pumpkin enzyme mask, your skin will not only feel baby soft, but it will be radiant and glowing too. If you have dry and flaky skin, this mask will help get rid of that. You can purchase a pumpkin enzyme mask if you don’t want to deal with the mess, but honestly, it’s so easy to make at home.
Why is Activated Charcoal good for my skin?
I am using activated charcoal in this DIY pumpkin mask because it helps to draw out impurities that clog the pores. It’s a perfect combo with the enzyme because you are getting the benefit of exfoliation while getting a deep pore cleanse. If you struggle with acne, using charcoal is one of the best ways to help, and it’s completely non-toxic and safe for your skin.
Why is Greek Yogurt good for my skin?
I like using a small amount of greek yogurt in my at home enzyme masks because it has lactic acid in it which will help to exfoliate within the follicle. Lactic acid is a staple in the beauty world for helping with problematic skin and the perfect addition to this DIY skincare product.
Recipe and Instructions for DIY Pumpkin And Charcoal Enzyme Mask
What you need for this mask (makes at 4 masks):
• 2 TBS Organic Canned Pumpkin Puree
• 2 TBS Greek yogurt
• 1 Activated Charcoal capsule
• Spoon
• Jar to put mask in
Instructions
The instructions for the DIY mask are incredibly simple. All you need to do is place all the ingredients into the jar and then mix it together with the spoon. Just make sure to tighten the lid when ou aren’t using it and place it in the refrigerator. Make small batches because it’s only good for a week since there are no preservatives.
How to use the DIY Pumpkin Enzyme Mask
You want to make sure your skin is completely cleansed and pat dry. Apply a quarter size amount of the mask to your skin or until your face is entirely covered with a thin layer. You want to leave it on your skin for 10 minutes and then wash your skin and pat it dry.
If you want to intensify your exfoliation (use with caution), apply the mask and let your face steam in the shower for ten minutes. Steam helps to activate the enzyme and give you even softer and more radiant skin. My skin is VERY used to being exfoliated, so I don’t have any problem with this enzyme masking technique. I would recommend trying to DIY mask without steaming for your first time and then adding in steaming on the second round of masking.
Warning with this Pumpkin Enzyme Mask
As I said up top; Pumpkin is a more aggressive enzyme to have on your skin. So, if at any point you feel a slight burning sensation, take it off immediately. If you are on benzoyl peroxide or retinol, do not use this mask. You can opt for using the DIY papaya enzyme mask instead that is a little more gentle. Do not use this mask after using a scrub exfoliant.
How Often Should You Use the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask?
You can use this DIY Pumpkin Enzyme Charcoal mask once or twice per week to keep your skin glowing and fresh. It depends on you and your skincare needs. I am a once a week masking girl because I am very diligent with my skincare routine and don’t need any more than that.
Alright, guys, happy masking and let me know how you like that mask!

Kendra
