Emerald Makeup Look: 2013 Color of the Year

Happy New Year, and welcome to a whole new year or trends, colors, and new fashion statements! According to Pantone, Emerald is the color for 2013. I actually have to be honest, I didn’t even know what Pantone was or that a company chose what color was the “it color” of the year. But I guess they do, so I will just roll with it and bust out an emerald makeup look for the eyes.

I happen to really like the shade Emerald; it reminds me of something old fashion, elegant and kind of victorian-esc. What do you think of the new color of the year? How will you be rocking your emerald shade this season?

Step by Step How To

1)First base your eyelids with the Urban Decay Shadow Potion.

2) Then take the Jane Iredale Emerald shade eyeshadow and pat it onto your entire lower eyelid and sweep in under your lower lash line.

3) Now take the Teal MAC pigment and press it over the emerald shade with your finger top and sweep it under your lower lash line as well.

4) Line your upper and lower lash line with a emerald shade eye pencil, connecting the inside and outside of the eye. I used a discontinued shade from MAC. Then I lined over that with a black eye-pencil, also tracing over the upper and lower water-line.

5) I saved the skin for last because I knew I would have fallout from the pigment. So apply the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint, then on the cheeks I added the Jouer Cheek Tint in Peony and a highlighted the cheek bones with the shade Champagne.
