Okay, lets be honest for a minute…there is some serious contouring, lighting, and photoshop going on in the picture of Adele, cover of Vogue, 2012. I just want you to know, that I know, that this is the situation that went down in that picture. But I don’t care, I am not going to fault her, she looks amazing and she killed it at the Grammy’s as we all know by now. So don’t be offended that I chose this as my “Get The Look,” I think her makeup was/is amazing and easy to re-create.
1. After foundation and concealer, apply cream contour shade under cheek bone and blend, blend, blend with foundation brush. Next add the bronzer on top to deepen the contour. I don’t as much of a round face as Adele, so I don’t need as much contour as she does.
2. Apply bootycall under brow bone, on full eyelid, and into tear duct. Then apply your dark brown matte shadow into contour focusing on the inner part of the natural contour, blend with large blending brush. Next take the small blending brush and go over that contour again making it a bit more prominent.
3.With liner brush, dip into the clay liner, starting from the inner eye trace the entire lash line going towards to outside corner and staying close to the lash line. Now turn your brush with point facing toward outside of lash-line, placing the brush at a diagonal point and dragging downward toward the outside corner of lash-line. Now build on top of that until you almost have a rectangle as the end of your thick line making a winged liner. Trace over that existing line and lightly under the lower lash-line with the blackout eyeshadow.
I love this look so much because it would be super easy to replicate. We see lace everywhere nowadays so putting your hands on a great lace dress for a good price should be easy! The dress that Adele has on in this shoot has a boat neckline on it which is flattering on all body shapes because it draws attention upward. The sheer overlay of lace decreases the bulkiness of fabric over the chest in a boat neckline. A defined waistline, like the one shown here is also important when finding a great dress so that your body has a natural shape. The leather gloves continue the contrasting mashup of styles that has been trending since last spring, when paired with this super feminine dress. Long gloves of any material make a great statement piece to any outfit and they keep you warm. Pair your gloves and lace dress with a great leather bootie that can work in some many different outfits. You are ready hit the cover of Vogue.
