Jane Iredale recently launched their new City Nights Collection for fall, and I got my hands on a few of the pieces. In this mineral makeup collection, there are a few new trendy gel eyeliner colors, the Celebrate Eye Shadow Trio, and some pretty lipgloss shades.
If you aren’t familiar with Jane Iredale Cosmetics, it’s a mineral makeup line that focuses on creating makeup that looks good, feels good, and is good for the skin. I have used Jane Iredale for several years, and for the most part, I like the cosmetics they create. So let’s see if I like the City Nights Collection as well.
First Impressions: Love the packaging on the eye shadow, not sure how I feel about the lipgloss, but that liner color is ah-maz-ing.
Celebrate Limited Edition Eye Shadow Trio: There are three new shades in the Celebrate Eye Shadow Trio that are perfect for every day use. It’s encased in a stunning rose gold-mirrored compact for on-the-go use.
Eye Shadow Colors
Mist: matte cream
Toast: shimmery caramel-gold
Port: a deep wine
My Thoughts: I think that the compact itself is absolutely gorgeous. It’s by far the best packaging that Jane Iredale has created, and I hope to see more like this in the future. As far as the eye shadows go, I wish that Mist had a bit of sheen to it for highlighting, but it’s a great neutral shade, and a generous size. Toast and Port are both beautiful fall eye shadow colors that are creamy in texture, and are pretty pigmented. With that said, I would recommend using a primer before applying these as there are some larger flecks of glitter in these two that are pretty on the eyelid, but not so much on the face.

Purple Jelly Jar Gel Eyeliner: This is a highly pigmented, water resistant, and long lasting eyeliner that goes on smooth, and set’s to stay how you like it.
My Thoughts: I am slightly obsessed with this purple Jelly Jar Gel Eyeliner. It’s the perfect shade of deep-purple for a pop of color that’s not overwhelming to look at. It was really smooth when applying, and made it’s way throughout my hectic day without a budge.

PurGloss Lipgloss in Kir Royale: A shimmery red-plum lipgloss with Moringa butter and avocado oil that makes the lips feel moisturized and conditioned.
My Thoughts: In general, the PurGloss is a really good lipgloss formula that has great staying power with awesome ingredients that aren’t petroleum based. At first, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this lipgloss color, and honestly, the shimmer kind of freaked me out. But the Kir Royale was an impressively beautiful shade that gave my lips a slight tint of that berry color that’s popular for fall. And-the shimmer was actually really gorgeous on my lips.

Who is this collection for: I think that the Jane Iredale City Nights Collection is perfect for someone who wants to wear fall makeup colors, but doesn’t want to be overwhelmed by them
.
My ending thoughts on the Jane Iredale, City Nights Collection is that it’s a well-pieced-together collection that looks great together. I think the highlight for me is the Purple Jelly Jar Gel Eyeliner because I am sort of an eyeliner snob, and this was not only a great formula, but a beautiful color.
