Makeup Artist Boot Camp

This last June I had the opportunity to train with the very talented makeup artist, Kerry Herta by taking one of her Makeup Artist Boot Camp Classes! I came across her Boot Camp information on Craigslist and asked her if I could write a piece on her class for my blog. During our phone conversation the next day, she spiked my interest, and I knew I was going to try and do everything I could to take her class. So I ended up going and was one of 7 lovely ladies (and I do mean lovely) attending and gleaning from her years of proven success in this field.

As a working makeup artist myself, my personal philosophy is that you can always improve and become better. I have been doing makeup professionally for 8 years, I attended a very well known makeup school for 2 months, and walked away with makeup knowledge but zero industry knowledge. What I loved about this class is that, not only did Kerry teach us important things like HD makeup application (something I personally never learned in school), FX, and airbrush , she also gave us the invaluable 411 on the do’s and dont’s of this industry. I walked away with new techniques, tools, knowledge and wonderful friends. All of which I am so thankful for.
