Seriously Long Wearing Eyeshadow

I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend! I can’t complain, this girl is out of rainy Portland and currently in FLORIDA hanging with my little fam-bam (minus chum-chum who’s pics can be found on Instagram). We hit up Disney World for Memorial Day and are headed to Animal Kingdom on Friday. we are having a great time! My only complaint would be the humidity, which I was prepared for. Before we left, I went to Wallgreens and bought the long wearing 24 hour Color Tattoo Eyeshadows by Maybelline New York! I have had my eye on these for a while; the color choices are outrageously bright and beautiful. They were a must have, and since I was headed here, it made sense (or is was an excuse) to buy.

There are so many colors to choose from, but I decided to buy one neutral and two oober bright shades.

From left to right: Teal, Taupe, Painted Purple

Teal and painted purple go on smoothly, but tended to separate a bit once I put it on my eyelids. You can see in this picture the separation a bit. But once I let it dry, I applied second coat and it was fine. You just want to be careful to not put it on too thick or it will look chunky. The Taupe on the other hand went on like butter; no separation at all.  I think because it’s matte and the other two have shimmer in it is the main reason why. I experienced the same color separation with my Makeup Forever Aqua eyeshadows as well (which are 3 times as much by the way).

For this look, I used Teal on my lower eyelid and extremely close to my bottom lash line. Then I blended Taupe into the contour of my eyes and swept it right under the Teal I placed on my lower lash line. To finish I used a light shimmery shadow under my brow bone to highlight and added two coats of mascara.

Final Thoughts, Opinions, and Ratings

First off, lets talk about how this literally stayed put all day long! For someone who has allergies, watery eyes, or is going to be in a wedding…this would be perfect! With that said, because it stays on so long, it is a pain to take off. I used coconut oil to get mine off because regular cleanser was not even coming close to doing the job.

I also really enjoyed that there were ten colors to choose from, and the black shade would make a really killer liquid liner if you buy the correct liner brush. My only complaint would be the product separation, which can be fixed as I said. Other than that….for around $6.00 each, these are a fantastic buy.
