My Mom-The Rockstar

In honor of mom’s, I had to do a post on my beautiful mom who has taught me everything about beauty from the inside out. For starters, my lipstick addiction started because of my mom. I can vaguely remember running to my mom’s purse to “borrow” her lipstick for a special occasion, the arrival of our babysitter. I would perch myself in front of the bathroom mirror and begin to smother it on my lips, or my face really. I felt super fancy for 2 years old.

My mom did a great job of letting me explore my girly side growing up, but was also very intentional about letting me see that beauty is far deeper than just our exterior. Beauty starts from within, and no amount of skincare or makeup can make you truly beautiful. My mom’s faith in God has inspired my faith; my life is so much richer because of that.  As I approach the beauty world on a daily basis, I am so thankful for the incredible wisdom and knowledge she has passed along about what true beauty looks like

Here is a break down of all the words that I would say describe my mom. Kind, giving, considerate, beautiful, generous, thoughtful, selfless, hard working, tough, stylish, lovely, real, bold, amazing mom of 6, grandma of 9, wife, and daughter. She really is truly one of the most amazing women I have ever known. With all of the many “hats” she wears on a weekly basis, she is a rock star and one of my heroes (non cheezy way)! I hope I am to my daughter what she is to me. I love you mom!

Makeup that reminds me of my mom***

1. Cover Girl Lash Exact Mascara– The purple tube- she has worn it since it came out.
2. Jane Iredale Tinted Moisturizer
3. Physicians Formula baked bronzer
4. Cover Girl Eye Enhancers 4 kit. Berries and Cream I think- or something with a purple hue to it.
5. Any shade of bronze and mauve color of lipstick. Usually over the counter brands.
