NYFW SS ’15 is over, but the fashion makeup trends will stay in our arsenal of makeup looks until next spring when we can official feel safe to bust them out. With that said, not all of these makeup looks are spring-friendly-only, there are definitely a few makeup looks that are safe to wear now, that you should wear now. Check out the 3 NYFW SS ’15 makeup looks to try that I personally love and give my stamp of approval on.
Smokey Brown Eyes: For the Pamela Rolands SS ’15 show, lead makeup artist, Matin Maulawizada for Laura Mercier, created a monochromatic design that was, “effortless and dramatic.” He created a smokey brown eye by applying the Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Colour in Cocoa, at the lash line, and blending it up and out around the bottom of the eye. He then swept the Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Hot Chocolate on top of the lids, and finished using the Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara in Black. (Picture curtesy of Laura Mercier)
Glossy Eyes: While the glossy eye trend that lead artist for NARS, James Boehmer created for the Naeem Khan SS ‘15 runway show may seem questionable to most, it’s easy, glamorous, and very old hollywood. By using the NARS Coconut Grove matte eyeshadow over the entire eyelid, and pressing the NARS Triple X lipgloss over that, you can look runway ready in your everyday life. (picture curtesy of NARS)
Yellow Liner: Yellow might be the color crush of the season for next spring/summer according to key makeup artist, Talia Shobrook. She created a feminine and fun makeup look for the SS ’15 Athleta show by focusing on a flawless face using the Temptu Airpod foundation, blush, and highlighter, and then adding a punch of yellow liner. To get this yellow winged cat-eye look, Talia used the S/B Hi-Def in Yellow along the lash-line for eye-liner perfection. (picture curtesy of Temptu)
And…while I wish I could have been at this last NYFW to see these makeup looks and trends up-close and personal, I at-least get to live vicariously through all of the re-cap pictures. Next year I am for sure going…who is with me?
