Oscars Best Dressed In Becca’s Opinion

Some great performers hit the red carpet this weekend in hopes of winning an Oscar at the Academy Awards. I honestly can’t tell you who won what, but I do know there were some stunning dresses on some of the most stunning actresses of our time.

1. Meryl Streep: Not only did this leading lady walk away with an Oscar for her stunning role in Iron Lady, but I think her gown stole the show. At 62 years old, Meryl looks amazing and she always does a stunning job dressing for her age. Her gold gown was from Lanvin.

2. Octavia Spencer: I have yet to see The Help, but from everything I have heard, Octavia played a great role, and the Academy must have agreed. Her white, sequined, Tadashi Shoji gown does a great job at hugging her curves right at the waist and then gracefully moves out. I love the gathered tuck in the middle as well. This gown was made for her!

3. Sandra Bullock: I am a sucker for dresses with great backs because I think that the back is an overly ignored part of the human body. I love the gold detailing that plays around the top of the skirt on this dress by Marchesa and then the draped cream fabric that accentuates and lengthens of her look.

4. Milla Jovovich: I love a great white gown that doesn’t look like a wedding dress. I think this dress, by Elie Saab, plays up all the right places on Jovovich’s shape, and let me say, that sassy red lipstick gives her look such a great pop!

5. Berenice Bejo: I had it out with a co-worker today about this gown: she hated it, told me this was the worst dress she has ever seen, but I thought it was beautiful! I also sort of have an addiction to this color right now so I might be a little biased to this piece from Elie Saab. I love the long sleeves and laced deep-v on the neckline, although I will say that I am not too impressed with the pattern/texture on the skirt.
