This week I did a drugstore beauty run and came home with a few gel Milani eyeshadows based off of recommendations from some trusted beauty blogging friends. Since there are thirty gorgeous shades in this collection, it was really hard to pair down what I wanted to purchase. But I did narrow it down significantly by going the color-safe route and choosing three basic, but very gorgeous eyeshadow colors that are perfect for an every day look: Bella Black, Bella White, and Bella Espresso.
From a first glance perspective, these eyeshadows look rich in pigment and creamy in texture, but I did notice that quite a few of them were severely broken and rather crumbled in their packaging. I can’t stand when my eyeshadows break and leave pigmented wreckage all over my cosmetic bag. I mean, who does?
But obviously, all of the positive reviews out there on the Milani Gel eyeshadows made me look past the broken product and here we are today- my review on the Milani Gel eyeshadows. I mean, they are only $3.99 a piece, so I won’t lose sleep at night if these purchases happen to not work out.
Dipping into the eyeshadows were a breeze- the creamy texture allowed the pigment to adhere to my makeup brushes really well. I was able to create an every day eye makeup design that had a fall feel to it. I used Bella White over my entire eyelid, top to bottom, for an all over color. Then, I contoured with the Bella Espresso and also swept it under my lower lash-line. Last, I lined my upper and lower lash-line with the Bella Black using a damp angled, eyeliner brush.

Blending the Milani gel eyeshadows together and creating a simple eye makeup look was rather easy, and I was really happy with how my eye makeup look turned out. For a more intense smokey eye, I would recommend using an eyeshadow primer, as they weren’t as pigmented as I was hoping they would be. Another thing to think about that I mentioned above is the soft texture. You need to baby these eyeshadows and perhaps not toss them into a makeup bag so casually.
Overall though, Milani Cosmetics are sure putting some luxury cosmetics to the test and breaking the meaning of drugstore beauty. Have you tried these Milani eyeshadows yet?
I hope you all have a great day!

Kendra
