Rodan and Fields Enhancements Micro-Dermabrasion Paste Review

My neighbor is awesome. Instead of bringing over cookies or food when Wyatt was born, she brought over beauty products. Talk about an instant-win and major points for being the coolest neighbor of all time. She is a rep for Rodan and Fields, a skincare brand I enjoy and have talked about and reviewed before. So, when she gave me the Enhancements Micro-dermabrasion Paste to try out, I was a happy girl; I have heard nothing but rave reviews about this product in magazines and beauty blogs.

Truthfully, it takes a lot to impress me with skincare, especially products that are meant to exfoliate the skin. Since starting this blog, I have tried a plethora of exfoliating products and in my opinion, the Enhancements Micro-dermabrasion Paste is gold. I have been using it three times a week for the past month and have become obsessed with it.

What this is: This is an oil-free exfoliating treatment for the skin that is meant to have similar results to a mircroderm. It sloughs off dead skin cells and promotes cellular turnover, which in turn gives you healthier looking skin.

This exfoliating scrubs main ingredients are Sugar and salt for exfoliation and Vitamins C and E to hydrate and ward off free-radicals. All of this together not only improves the texture of the skin, but it helps clear out blackheads, minimize pore size, plus reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

How to use it: Since this is a paste, itโ€™s rather thick, so a little goes a long way. I applied a dime size amount to my (dry) skin and rubbed it around in a circular motion for about a minute. Then I rinsed it off with warm water, patted my face dry, and followed up with my other skincare products. If you have sensitive skin, itโ€™s recommended to dampen your face first and then apply the Enhancements Micro-dermabrasion Paste.

My experience: Because this has salt and sugar, it feels grainy on the skin. But because it has some dimethicone in it, it easily slips as you rub it around, which prevents over scrubbing. With that said, this is a scrub/exfoliant, so if you have extra-sensitive skin, you should take precaution and be very gentle. There is no need to apply extra pressure as you exfoliate; this scrub does not need it, trust me.

After I was done using the scrub, my face was slightly pink, felt soft, and looked radiant. I experienced slight tingling after I was done, but nothing painful. To me, thatโ€™s a good sign of a good treatment. If your skin tends to flush easily, you might experience more redness than I did.

Right after applying the scrub…do you see my pink chin?

Here is my skin 10 minutes after applying the scrub with no other skincare products on. Also, don’t mind the dark circles…they aren’t going away anytime soon. I am sleep deprived with a new baby.

Overall Thoughts and Opinions: I think the proโ€™s of the Rodan and Fields Enhancements Micro-dermabrasion Paste are: 1) the scrub density 2) the vitamin C (amplifies exfoliation) 3) the product size. Itโ€™s a great skincare investment if you are looking for an exfoliant to add to your routine. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!
