What summer makeup should you keep for fall?
SWAP TINTED MOISTURIZER FOR FOUNDATION: Naturally bronzed skin starts to diminish along with the warmth of the sun around September. It’s really a tragedy…unless you live in Austin, TX like I do…then you celebrate. With that comes the visibility of more skin flaws and the ditching of your favorite tinted moisturizer. I always recommend a good skin care regimen over hiding behind makeup, but let’s be honest; we all have skin imperfections. So, choose a medium coverage foundation like the Urban Decay Naked or the Beautycounter Tint skin for even and gorgeous skin.
SWAP BLUSH COLORS: Ditch the coral pinks for dusty rose and brown pink blush tones for fall. You could even incorporate berry tone blushes for a fun pop of color. Check out Dior Skin Lumizer Blush or NARS Desire.
SWAP WARM EYESHADOWS TO JEWEL TONES: That warm summer eyeshadow palette needs to be swapped out for jewel tones ASAP. Choose moody colors like forest green, plum, raspberry, and bronze for your seasonal fall makeup switch. My favorite simple switch that can be incorporated into what you already have is that FORD Honeymoon quad. It’s one of my absolute faves. But, if you don’t want to spend that kind of money–check out this one from NYX…it’s under $10!
SWAP YOUR SUMMER NUDE GLOSS TO FALL SHADE LIPSTICK: Of course you can always wear one of the best nude lipsticks for fall, but how about a pop of something deeper? Paint your pout with a gorgeous shade of burgundy or even a dark red lip to pair with the changing colors of the seasons. If you’re not up for wearing something full coverage like the Big & Sexy lipstick from BUXOM, try out the Beautycounter Plum Lip Sheer instead, or this berry lipstick from Covergirl.
