You know it’s a sign of the times when you don’t even have to leave your home in order to have a salon experience. So when asked to consider writing this post for this new on-line beauty tool by TRESemmé, I was immediately intrigued which led to being excited that something like this exists now. Check this out: TRESemmé is now offering hair consultations via webcam with a professional stylist at the TRESemmé LiveStyling site. For those of us on-the-go women, TRESemmé’s new program, offered exclusively to Wallgreens, is pretty revolutionary and makes it a lot more convenient to get some good hair advice tailored to you and not the masses.
During the month of January, when you buy 2 TRESemmé products at Walgreens, you will receive a coupon with a unique code that can be redeemed for a FREE 10-minute consultation with a professional stylist!
How Does This Consultation Work and Will I Feel Awkward?
You just go to the TRESemme Live Styling site, enter in your code and schedule yourself an appointment between Jan. 7, 2013-March 29, 2013, Monday-Friday from 11a-7p EST, on a first come first serve basis. I had an easy time scheduling, but did end up having my appointment cancel do to one of the stylists having an emergency. It wasn’t a big deal, I just had to reschedule with another one. These are real people after all.
Awkward? Not at all, you are talking to a professional. My TRESemmé stylist even asked me to hold up the ends of my hair to see the damage…that’s pretty good.
Hair Talk & Good Tips
I had a great experience with my adorably sweet stylist. She LOOKED like a stylist (umm, you know what I mean), talked hair like a stylist, and knew product like a stylist. These three factors ensured me that she wasn’t a random hire. I immediately felt comfortable asking her my hair questions and if our time wasn’t just limited to 10 min, we probably could have been friends. So here are the questions I asked her and her answers.
Q: “As a natural blonde, is my brown hair kind of weird looking on me? My parents still seem to think so.”
A: She actually commented on how much she liked my color before I asked! YAY! (Sorry mom and dad, we are sticking with brown.)
Q: “Is the length of my hair good for the shape of my face?”
A: That is when she promptly asked to see my ends and slightly gasped. Time for a haircut I guess.
Q: “Usually I let my hair dry freely. What kind of TRESemmé products should I be using to make it look like I actually did something with it?”
A: My hair has a tiny bit of natural curl to it and can tend to look like a frizzy disaster. So, she suggested the Tresemme Curl Care Flawless Curls with a diffuser to tame and define them. She also said swoosh my hair from one side to the other while diffusing to add body. Not a bad tip. Another product recommended was the Tresemme Fresh Start Waterless Shampoo for the days I don’t wash it. I hate to admit it, but the “no wash” thing happens more often than not. I have a three month old, give me a break.
To me, the best part of all of this is that it can be done in the comfort of your home for FREE (insert clap) while kids are napping. Even better, you don’t need to hire a babysitter…money saved for that much needed coffee!
So now that you know the questions I asked…what questions are you going to ask? You know you are going to have to tell me because I am that nosy and genuinely want to know. Thanks Ladies (men too) and xoxo.
