There is something to be said about people, organizations, and companies that do things beyond the typical and ordinary. Citizens of Beauty is not just a beauty site that focuses on the outward appearance (as much as I LOVE beauty products), I believe beauty stems from the inside. It is beautiful when people love people and are able to serve them by meeting a need and giving back. So I wanted to stop for a moment and recognize a few cosmetic companies that are in-fact doing some good in this world by meeting the needs of others.

The Body Shop® Soft Hands Kind Heart Hand Cream–
This hand cream is no ordinary hand cream, not only does it have community trade Organic Olive Oil, but it helps fight the war against sex trafficking. An amazing 100% of the net proceeds of this product go to their global partner charity, ECPAT!
The Body Shop® says this- “Trafficking is the 3rd largest and fasted growing criminal industry in the world. 100% of the profits from the sale of this product will be donated to our global NGO partner ECPAT* International and national members of the ECPAT network, whose work aims to help protect children and young people from sex trafficking.”
*I personally am so passionate about this topic, and I am so happy to see a cosmetic company get involved with an issue that is plaguing our world and taking away a basic right of freedom! Get involved by simply purchasing a $7.00 hand cream!

M.A.C cosmetics VIVA GLAM–
M.A.C is known for their intense pigments, fashion forward thinking and creating great product’s. But did you know they are also known for their humanitarian work as well? In 2004 M.A.C started “Viva Glam”, a collection of their makeup that gives 100% of the purchasing price to help women, men, and children who are effected by HIV/AIDS. Over the past two years Lady Gaga has stood behind these products as the face of “Viva Glam” , in addition she has also promoted the issue of Aids while she has been on tour. So I really believe this is some makeup we can all feel very good about purchasing. To check out the M.A.C fund and see what it is all about, click HERE.

Estée Lauder The Pink Collection
Because I am a women, the issue of breast cancer is huge and a very real possibilty. So when I saw the “Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign” I had to highlight it. Evelyn H Lauder is the “Senior Corporate Vice President of The Estée Lauder Companies and Founder and Chairman of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. In 1992, she co-created the Pink Ribbon and founded The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign”.
How can you help the cause? Estée Lauder has the Pink Collection which helps continue to raise awareness for breast cancer. In addition Estée Lauder says they “will make a $500,000 donation to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation”. I am not clear if that is something they have already done, or if by purchasing these products, they will be able to attain that goal. Either way, this is a a great way to support the cause!
Glad there are companies out there supporting causes that are near and dear to a woman’s heart. Thanks for putting up this post.
of course! AND thanks for the comment dear!
